Rick Kulaas

Position: 
P.E., entrepreneur; inventor, certified teacher, water auditor, construction manager and proprietor of a professional water management, design and consulting company established in 1990.

 

Kulaas possesses a 35 year career of diverse experiences in the fields of natural resource and environmental engineering and consulting; landscape architecture design and consulting; agricultural water systems design engineering, water management and consultation services; operations and business management; specification and contract management; construction manager; certified as a vocational college educator and an internationally certified English teacher (TESOL).     

Some of the clients that Kulaas has had the privilege to work with include Battelle NW, Exxon R&T, JA Jones (all in the Hanford area), the now obsolete Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation #2 reactor pump house; Columbia River Public Utility Districts (Franklin, Benton, Douglas and Chelan County PUDs); USDOT and WSDOT; Corp of  Engineers; Department of Defense (DOD); numerous city, county, state and federal agencies throughout the Pacific Northwest, California, New Mexico, Alaska, Hawaii, Virginia; public and private schools, colleges and universities; and other professional engineering, architectural and landscape architectural firms; agricultural farms, coops and ranchers.  

Types of projects Kulaas has designed, managed and constructed include multi-million dollar sewer treatment plants, freeways, highways and roads; public parks, athletic stadiums and facilities, golf courses, public works infrastructure projects and agricultural water systems and pumping station projects.     

Kulaas offers experienced engineering, construction management and water management services for civil infrastructure (water, storm and sewer) development, environmental water management; irrigation system engineering (turf and agricultural); dewatering and drainage engineering; project specification writing, project contract administration; mitigation and  environmental impact statement (EIS) research and report writing; agricultural water system engineering, crop coefficients and soil analysis engineering; ag-water management consultant; rangeland management consultant and the design, specification and construction management of pumping stations, wells and weirs.       

Kulaas is very passionate towards Chinese history, culture and its people; I see many great things that China offers the world.  Currently China appears to need the assistance of many peoples to help clean up the environment.  Kulaas’ future plans are focused at helping develop and build the better bridge of friendship between our societies for better business and personal relationships.
